Greenwood Baptist Church exists to make disciples who Share Christ & Serve families.
“We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of
God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us.” (1 Thessalonians 2:8)
Greenwood Baptist Church seeks to be a Christ-centered family that grows culture Shaping Christians.
“So then, just as you have received Jesus Christ as Lord, continue to walk in Him, being rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude.” (Colossians 2:6-7)
Roots
Sharing our faith with others deepens our walk with Christ.
“The person who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed.
He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
Trunk
Serving others develops our strength as servant leaders for Christ.
“Whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:44-45)
Branches/Leaves
Seeking to fulfill our design as a church shows the love of Christ.
“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
Circle
Shaping our culture is an intentional decision to live like Christ in all circles.
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
